Before I returned to the office, I  prepared my speech for Daniel.  I know he had been worried about me and I felt guilty running away as I did.

I’d spent two weeks lounging on a yacht or enjoying near gourmet meals at the guest house. And he had no idea where I was, who I was with, if I was living or dead.

When I entered and saw his sad puppy face I was extra nice to him, and our friendship returned to what it had been before my contretemps.

But then, I learned I was pregnant.

And Daniel was the only man I had been with since Tony.

I thought of abortion, but why?  I was at my child bearing prime, Daniel would take care of the baby.
