The Letter came a week later.
“Dear Myrtle;”
it began, which was strange for no one called her that… she wondered who wrote her this letter…
“Dear Myrtle:
All my life I had believed my father was the evil one who drove you away. All my life I loved you and wanted to be with you.
Getting enough money together, I flew to Bermuda to see you.
I have a lot to say, but won’t bother.
I am back in Jamaica. I will spend the rest of my life making up time with my father. Hoping he will forgive and understand.

Myrtle couldn’t believe her son could write this, balled up the letter and tossed it in the trash. She went on with her life as she always had.
