The Ecard – 5

What happened was that Melly  took a cab to  Tommy’s address.  But he didn’t live there any more.   He had moved out six months before.

She had no where to go, so went to a cheap motel, and tried to connect to someone from her past and finally called an Aunt who said Melly could stay with her.  

Melly took another cab to her Aunt’s flat where she tried to keep her spirits up and squeeze into the spare room.

The next day she spent the day calling old friends who barely remembered her.

She’d only been gone a year.

She sent an email to Tommy which bounced back as his account was closed.

Melly sent emails to everyone she had known.

She learned that the office closed in March and everyone  scattered and lost contact with each other.
