Jerry was my husband’s nephew. He’d come to stay with us when he was ten and his folks were going through an ugly divorce.
Although it was to be temporary, he never left as we never wanted him to leave.
He was great with our kids, helpful to us, a true gift. We loved him as if he were our own, and he loved us.
He’d grown from a child to a teenager, and now was a junior in college.
We told him his folks had created a fund which paid for his education. That was a lie. It was Dave, my husband, and I who paid.
This is why I had to keep working for the most annoying Boss on Earth.
