Almost trembling, Isaac was in front of his building when Rachel showed up. He almost jumped into the car.
She was calm, gorgeous, and asked him exactly where they were going. He told her, for he’d been there before, and she began to drive. After a few minutes of silence, she spoke;
“You know, Isaac, I really need you to level with me.”
“About what?”
“What exactly is happening.”
“You are driving to the pier.”
“You know what I mean.”
“No, I really don’t.”
“Why did you ask me to join you at this function?”
“I …I told you… ” he stuttered.
She gave him a piercing look.
