Norman is a text book abuser. He proceeds as if following a program. He begins with emotional abuse, and when that no longer is effective, moves to intellectual abuse.
He tries to ridicule your ideas. He comes up with all sorts of points and theories why you are wrong.
If you are more intelligent than he is, this falls flat so he moves to spiritual abuse.
He tries to play with your feelings. You are happy about X he makes you unhappy about X.
When this fails he moves to on to verbal abuse, and then, physical.
He has been married three times.
He has abused all his wives. Beaten them for as long as he was able.
His first left him after three years, his second, who was kept pregnant stayed with him for twelve. His third wife was half his age. He hit her, she floored him and walked out.
