Norman is a ‘text book’ abuser. He follows the pattern as if programmed.
He races into your life as a great hero, handsome, intelligent, sweet, everything. He fills your life, and then, for some reason, ends the relationship.
You cry and feel bad, and then! He returns! And you race off and marry!
Norman’s first step is emotional abuse. He has already taken it. He needs to make you cry. You cry, he consoles. He caused you to cry so his consoling seems a ’cause/effect’.
When this no longer works, he moves on to intellectual abuse.
