I selected this house, the remotest of the remote because I didn’t want to be near anyone as I was too stupid to live.
There needs to be a back story; it starts when I was eleven, in competition with a girl called Lynn. We had been rivals from second grade. We were in constant academic competition, a virtual ‘duel to the death!’
I was studying during lunch and after school. At the time I was unaware that Lynn was having a puppy love with a boy named Mitch.
At the Final Class Competition, I won easily. I won because I was focused on my work, she was focused on Mitch.
The take away was not to let a boy distract me from my goal.
