The elevator came, Anton got on with a few coworkers and they went down to the cafeteria to have lunch.
The topic was Candy’s behaviour and how she didn’t belong in an office. Anton made nods, and grunts, focusing on his food. Whatever Pete had said made Candy seem even more poisonous than she was.
By the end of the day Dave was very attentive to his wife, publicly. He said something about them running off for a week.
Anton felt pleased with himself and when he got home called his ex-wife. He acted lively and interested in what she said, then spoke to the children.
They arranged to meet tomorrow at a particular amusement park, and Anton was more avid to see them then ever.
