On one hand I realised I never should have started. I never should have played this game, because it wasn’t cute or funny. These women truly depended on the correspondence with their idol, whom they thought I was.
I left my short story about my impersonation grow moss in my drafts and wrote and published other stories.
I wrote under a pseudonym. When I began my writing career I had a mainstream job. I used my office email to collect the drafts of my stories. I didn’t want to expose myself as a lot of what I wrote was virtual transcription of things that happened at work or stories my co-workers shared.
I continued my correspondence with ‘my fans’ only getting into character’ when I read their emails, and out of it as I pressed send.
