Can't Make it Right – 25

Steve returned to the pulpit.

He also continued his fornication, his drinking, and being the last to leave the premises after service.

Although he would behave, when necessary, as if he loved his wife, everyone who knew him was aware of the realities.

He’d married Carla to ‘fix’ his parents. Now he was stuck with her.

Carla was content.   She had more money than ever in her life, lived in a fancy place, and was happy to not be physically utilised.

Although she was not particularly bright, she knew the reality of the situation.

Carla had over heard conversations,  picked up clues.  She knew her marriage was more the behaviour of a two year old refusing to go to the movies to ‘fix’ his parents than the rebel who married whom he wanted.
