Now, lying beside her husband in the quiet dark, Mae let the hospital drama rerun in her mind. There were a number of ‘connections’ between that television program and their lives.
To Max the show was a fiction, but to Mae that particular episode was far more, and she smiled to herself.
The female character was the usual idiot to make that pointless admission. Why tell your fiance, why tell your husband about a one off that happened in his absence? Why confess to something when the only result is devastation?
