Ann had been in an abusive relationship with Bob. He was so ‘jealous’ he would beat her if he felt she was ‘unfaithful’.
When she got into a relationship with Don, and he mentioned that it seemed that Steve was’hitting’ on her, her ‘jealousy’ flag went up and she broke off with Don.
Steve was hitting on her. When Don was out of the picture, he made his move.
Ann was able to reject him and escape.
That is when she realised that Don was not ‘being jealous’ he was making an observation.
It was then Ann reflected on her abusive relationship with Bob, and finally realised he intended to beat her, so called jealousy was merely a smoke screen.
