The Pogues sang “Fairytale of New York” in 1987. It reminded me of the wonderful snow-filled Christmases I spent with family and friends when I lived in New York City. It made me think of the snowy paths through Central Park that the beauty of seeing swirling snowflakes dancing around all the tall buildings, The lyrics might include drunken singers but it is all about Christmas and it only makes me smile.
