#1 Die Hard (1988) (Number 8 overall)
If you love action, a little romance and Bruce Willis, this may be the one you want at the top of the list.
#2 Comfort and Joy (1984) (10 overall)
This is another one I simply loved. I think it was the ice cream that got me. If you have not seen it, but it on your to watch list.
#3 A Christmas Story (1983) (Six on the overall list)
" Clark renders the memories of growing up in a particular time and place so well that Shepherd’s Hammond — its name changed to “Hohman” — becomes an idealized stand-in for any time and every place." You will find a touch of dark comedy here and for many it's a classic.
#4 Bad Santa (2003) (Seven on the overall list)
It seems that this one is a love / hate relationship. People either really loved it or simply hated it. What say you?
#5 Carol (2015) (coming in at 9 overall)
I have not seen it, but this seemed like the best description and made me realize I had read the book. "Inspired by Brief Encounter and adapted from a 1952 novel by Patricia Highsmith, otherwise best known for pitiless crime fiction like The Talented Mr. Ripley, Carol uses its holiday setting as more than a backdrop: Haynes bathes the films in Christmas lights, sure, but he also captures the spirit of a season through Carol and Therese’s relationship."
Love both Die Hard 1 and 2
