26 Years ago, we South Africans had our first official Casual Day. It has become a custom to celebrate Spring on the first Friday of September. Every year a theme is chosen, you buy your Casual Day sticker and dress up according to the theme. Various accessories are usually for sale as well. But this is not just a money making scheme. All the funds raised goes for supporting people with disabilities.
This year’s theme was Everyday Heroes, so you could dress up as a Doctor, or Firefighter, or let your imagination take over and finally become a Superhero. At our office, working with a bunch of crazy people, our colleagues never disappoint. Without knowing who is going to dress up like what, our outfits fit so well together, when the time for photos arrived we created our own ‘crime scene’.
I was soaring through the sky when suddenly a plane appeared out of nowhere and it’s wind knocked me out of the air.
Plunging to the ground, I was lying in the street unconscious.
Luckily, Dr Jenny was still on her way to hospital for her morning rounds and readily available to revive me.
Upon impact, there was a huge car accident. There was an explosion and some of the cars burst into flames, but thanks to the quick reaction of Firefighters Thuli and Mpho, the situation was quickly under control.
In the meantime, Dr Jenny was able to work her magic and I regained consciousness. Â As I sat up still a bit dizzy, we heard an alarm going off.
As it turns out, with all the confusion going around, Bling Lover Oara thought he will use the chaos as his opportunity to rob the local Jeweler. Â Unfortunately for him, Inspectors Nkiti and Primrose was already on the scene of the accident and together we were able to apprehend him.
