Today, we’re going to look at a drill, that is actually called the “transformation drill” that I use with kids that can do face down arm strokes, but who do not know how to side-breath yet.
When teaching young kids, keeping the lesson “fun” is important. Oftentimes, this means using language or terms that are imaginative. For example, “streamlines” become “alligator glides”, and “side-glides” become “shark glides”. Now, instead of breathing to your side, we’re transforming from an alligator into a shark when we need a breath.
