Coronavirus Latest Statistics

Saturday, March 21, 2020

It is a quiet day in Irvine, California, although it is still a beautiful spring day with birds chirping and tweeting a lovely song. But, unfortunately, we are under lockdown, and most businesses are closed. Few are still open, but only to pick up orders. There is a long line by Trader Joes, probably because they are limiting customers so that it doesn’t get crowded. Many people are wearing masks when they go outside.

Back on my computer, I notice coronavirus statistics on Facebook.

The global confirmed cases are around 303, 816, with total deaths reaching 12,973, but the recovered total is 91,676. Out of the 303,816 people who got the coronavirus, 24,783 people. USA deaths reached 307 people, but the total who recovered is 171.

The FDA authorizes a rapid test that will give results in 45 minutes. But in NYC and LA, doctors are asked to avoid such testing, unless for extreme cases, where the test result couldn’t significantly change treatments.

Italy continues to experience the highest cases for this coronavirus disease, which increase on a daily basis. The recent confirmed total is now 6,557 and the total deaths are 793.

The CDC recommends people to stay home and not spread the coronavirus, especially if you don’t feel good. Always wash your hands, like an OCD person, and don’t touch your eyes, nose, and mouth. And, don’t get too close to anyone, by making sure you are at least 6 feet away from other people.
