Working on the Last Phase…

Sunday, November 4, 2018

Today, I started the last phase of my graphic novel, which involves scanning pages and typing in the script. I am also redrawing the narration boxes and speech bubbles on the computer to make sure the boxes and bubbles are cleaner and neater. This process is tiring. I already did 8 pages so far, which is slow. But MS Publisher is a new software for me. I bought it last year from an internet site because I needed a new desktop publishing program. I am used to working on Pagemaker, InDesign, Quark, and FreeHand, but I don’t have any of these programs, and I cannot find them anywhere in stores. And, I don’t want to buy a one-year subscription garbage. I used to have very old versions of Pagemaker and Indesign, but they don’t work on Windows 7. So, I am hoping I can do my whole graphic novel on MS Publisher. I think it will take me a while to do 200 pages.

This is just one page from my prologue, where the main character is sitting inside her bedroom, wondering what is going outside. And, suddenly, her iPhone rings.
