Yet I thought

that smile was special

and yet she may

leave all and be mine

I was starved for love

after all, and all such

looking for tender ones

and their love talks

occupied my mind

I hounded her

like a dog

would a bitch

and with broken heart

saw her walk away

with shy smiles

with a few blokes

that passed by

then, on one bright sunlit day

in the searing heat

of the Sun

I was ruing her

accompanying another

hand, a small pat

rested on my shoulders

I startled and turned around

and saw a long forgotten friend

he smiled and said, “Mate she is

easy to get as she is left

and totally on the go

with no ethics, scruples

or regrets, all she needs is

a few currency notes

but come aside

and see this as your fate,”

He took me to shade

where my romantic mind

cooled, he took out a paper

from pocket

it turned out to be a

doctor’s prescription

wherein in BLOCK letters

two words scrawled

by the doctor screamed

at me

The friend moved away saying,

“she passes these even when she is shy, yeah”!

My romance evaporated in seconds

thinking and thanking my buddy

whether it is legs, hands

or torso, anything descending

in a foul drain would be dirtied bad

from then on, she crossed path many times

with a shy smile on her face

but on mine

there were scowls and frowns.

What do you think?
