Fifi Leigh
This video is my video of today’s art gallery reception. I used my iPhone 6 and Fisheye lens in order to create a different perspective of an opening reception. I think the video feels surreal, kind of like following a surveillance camera spying on others at a location. In a way, I am like an undercover spy inside a busy art gallery, spying on others mingling, eating, socializing, and checking out the artwork on display. It is also similar to a whimsical experience, like Alice in Wonderland’s Looking Glass mirror.
The glare from the fisheye lens also gives adds a certain fuzzy haze, in which I feel like I am walking through a surreal and colorful wonderland funhouse. But I didn’t see any white rabbit or Alice. Maybe I was Alice, looking for the white rabbit but didn’t find him inside this art gallery.
