Streets of Savannah Georgia

There is so much historic architecture to see in downtown Savannah, Georgia. The main floor in most of the older townhouses and buildings seemed to be up the stairs and about 6 feet above street level. Here you can see a stone stairway leading up to the main floor at this house. This kept you above the dusty street level especially when it was summertime with the windows open and no air conditioning.  I converted this to black and white also to wee what worked better. I really liked the balconies held up by cast iron frames and with cast iron balustrades.
