Madison Morgan Cultural Center in Georgia

Downtown and only a short walk from the center of Madison, Georgia is the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center.  This beautiful Romanesque Revival building was built in 1895 as the first “Graded school” where the students were grouped in grades and not all in one room as in most schools at the time. This building operated as a school until 1957 and now is a Cultural Center with a performance stage, classrooms, and lots of historical exhibits that can be viewed. The building is made of red brick with a slate roof and southern yellow pine for the wood.
