While we often see butterflies when visiting Arizona, I didn’t notice any this year. There were a fair number of moths flitting about though. I was able to snap a few pictures, but the moths seemed to be even more skittish than your average butterfly. They are quite a bit smaller, so perhaps I was just getting closer to them than I normally would when photographing a butterfly.
