They look awkward at best. A very large bird that has never flown and has been around since the time of the dinosaur. I guess you would have to say the bird was unique.

Yes, it's a lot of work just laying the eggs, let alone caring for them.
Stick with it and you will also see the chicks. It is quite amazing really. These birds cannot fly an have never flown. They don't have the right kind of feathers.
Since I grew up in ranch and farm country I find this unique and interesting. You may or may not enjoy it.

All the birds around the world have three to four toes, while ostrich is the only bird that has two toes.
