I am presenting three of my original Music Album Covers, which started out as normal paintings … and then took on a life on their own.
Let me know, which one you like the best.
Originally, it was a larger painting from 2013 called Tree of Life - Acrylic on canvas. This new edition from February 2017 has been cleaned up and color corrected for print purposes.
An edited version of the original painting (now with side panels) was used as artwork / album cover for my first Solo album Tree Of Life, which was released in March of 2013.
Originally, it was a larger scale painting from 2012 named Selfportrait - A Quiet Moment At Last - Acrylic on canvas (reposted with better color correction and cropped) - from my painting series Longing and Belonging, a growing series of paintings featuring myself, my precious little family and close friends in very intimate and vulnerable settings.
An edited version of the original painting was then used as artwork / album cover for my first Single Akankah Selalu Ada, which was released in March of 2013.
I still own these quite personal and (for me) very important paintings, since I want to be close to them and could never sell them.
Originally, it was a larger scale painting from 2013 named Meet The Press - At An Album Release Party - Acrylic on canvas (detail shown / reposted with better color correction).
Album Release Parties ... too many self absorbed people showing up to show off, too noisy with conversations without meanings ... too fake. I never liked this part of music industry protocol, I am sitting in the center ... annoyed and feeling out of place.
This particular part of the the painting was chosen as an album cover for my new album Radio Dalam Orchestra - Wir haben Spass, which was released in March of 2016.
The original painting is on display at our Family Restaurant and Gallery in Cilandak, South Jakarta.
