I agree with you that a dark skirt and a white shirt looks odd.

I see your point over the dark color on her dress now being too dark.

Learn by trial and error just I have done in fan fictions.
You can offer your new design to the manufacturers.
I could actually print this model out, if I had access to a printer…
The dark skirt and the striped socks looks great.
the skirt actually has a nifty texture but this piece is too dark to make it out
