Its all about roots crops. Here in central Alabama the turnip greens, mustard greens and kale are all thriving. The collards on just getting started!
The greens will provide food till a hard freeze comes, the old wives tale is that once the first frost comes the greens are sweet and not bitter.
The kale and collards tolerate freezing temps and can last for months into wintertime.

No fall garden but growing up I loved the fresh turnips and other greens.
The older I get the more I grow, I love a fall garden.
