It happened high up noon, in downtown San Diego just yesterday! Burglars entered the exhibition of rare Indian jewels on view at the museum in the purple building shown in the photograph, just off the corner of Market Street and Beach Street.
These two left with two items valued in the millions of dollars. One, a set of diamond earrings, featured two 30-carat teardrop-shaped centerpieces, each arrayed amid a chandelier pattern of dozens of smaller diamonds, and a giant brooch, in which a 10-carat flawless diamond was saluted by rows of rubies, more diamonds, and tassels of strung pearls.
