Norfolk Fire-Rescue teams are known for their skills of saving lives of humans and animals during fires around the community.

However it is very unusual for the Norfolk Fire-Rescue were summoned by a concerned neighbor who saw one man whose name was not released to the public who on Friday morning due to privacy reasons attempted to rescue a cat that may have belonged to a close friend of his that was stuck on a tree limb.

The man attempted to rescue the cat by climbing up a ladder in his attempt to rescue his best friend’s cat.

When the man went higher than the length of the rungs of his ladder, he realized that he was not able to come down from the tree safe and sound since he was around 30 feet above the ground which he knew if he attempted to jump from that height, he would suffer a very serious injury.

After the concerned neighbor called 9 1 1 to report the incident which is on Blue Bird Park which is located on Azalea Court in Norfolk, the firefighters arrived within 30 minutes to use their skills to get the man who was stuck on a tree as well as the cat by using their own ladder from their firetruck.

The firefighters were successful in rescuing both the cat and the man who attempted to rescue the cat safe and sound.

Both the man who attempted to rescue the cat and the cat who was rescued by the firefighters are thankful to back on the ground safe and sound.

Norfolk Fire Chief Harry Worley mentioned the fact that is very unusual for his firefighters to be called into service by rescuing humans and animals that get stuck on trees in his community.
