My preference is homegrown cantaloupe, picked at the peak of ripeness. They taste incredibly sweet and much more so than store-bought cantaloupes that are picked when they are a little green yet.

We usually get cantaloupe a few times a year and sometimes have a fruit bowl with cantaloupe and seedless watermelon. Occasionally, we also add honeydew melon.
