Importance of character education

Today we hear a lot about the decline of moral standards, the lack of respect for others and the culture of self. But our society does not have to be this way, and there is a growing movement to reverse these tendencies through the construction of the character. This is not a “quick fix”. It provides long-term solutions to moral, ethical and academic issues of growing importance to all of us.

Character education is the promotion of the young, ethical, responsible and careful character of modeling and teaching, highlighting the universal values that we all share as a concern, honesty, justice, responsibility, and respect for oneself and others.

Good character does not form automatically; on the contrary, it develops over time through a continuous process of teaching, learning, learning, and practice, specifically the construction of the character. Teachings of good character are especially important today when our young people have many opportunities and threats unknown to their parents and grandparents. They are bombarded with many negative influences from the media and other external sources that prevail in today’s culture.

Of course, parents are the first and most important moral educators of their character. But as the pressure to balance work and personal life affects the time families spend together, it is more important than ever for caring parents to trust moral problems and have the right tools for them. a fun way to help. We all know that children can have attention skills, and certainly prefer fun activities to say in a serious and daring way.

Schools also play an important role in the education and development of children with a good character through their character development programs. But it is crucial that these messages are reinforced in the home; After all, children learn by copying others. Then, when they realize that a good character is important to their parents, they are more likely to qualify for themselves.

A person with character…

  • A “good” person: someone the children look at, admire and try to imitate.
  • Know the difference between good and bad and always try to do the right thing, even if it is difficult.
  • Set a good example
  • Try to improve the world.
  • He is honest, reliable, trustworthy and affectionate.

It seems difficult, but the education of the heart is as important as the education of the spirit.

  1. The problem is, not enough people are setting good examples for the next generation so is it any wonder they’re lacking these oh-so-important values that we can’t bother to insist on our peers adhering to, let alone follow ourselves?
