Bundesliga is back!

The new season of the German Bundesliga begins today.  The defending Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich will start off the season at home against FC Schalke.  Both teams will have to compensate for some holes in the midfield.

Bayern will have to deal with midfielder Thiago Alcantara signing with Liverpool in principle yesterday.  He spent seven seasons at Bayern Munich.  As a central midfielder, he was the best passer as well as the best defensive midfielder on the team.  His starting spot will be filled more than likely with Corentin Tolisso.  

For Schalke, they must replace Weston McKinnie in the midfield after he was scooped up by Juventus earlier this month.  Schalke has the depth to find a new starter, but they must improve upon remaining healthy all season because injuries ravaged the team last season.  Whichever team is able to make the midfield adjustment will win this match.

The match will be televised at 2:30 PM EST on ESPN.  The winner of this match will receive a head start in this season’s Bundesliga.
