They call it cashew apple and some call it cashew fruit. But for us we just call it balubad to mean the fruit of the cashew. The cashew is the nut that is at the bottom of the fruit. Some people who are fond of cashew nuts do not even know that it has a fruit. That is why I had planted a cashew tree just for a novelty.
Friends who come during the fruiting season usually take a selfie with the cashew fruit. For them it is one unique fruit that they have not seen. Truly the cashew fruit is now considered exotic which means it is rare.

That is interesting and thank you for sharing. I never knew there was a cashew fruit. Yes, cashews are among my favorite nuts but now too expensive. They are showing in the Amazon ads cashew nuts at $15 and $21 per jar.
