Giving respect to the elders

In our culture, we give respect to the elders by holding their hand and placing it to our forehead. The elder will respond by saying “may God bless you.” But in this modern time the asking of blessing has been changed to a kiss on the cheek and sometimes a hug.

You can imagine the big change now that we cannot hold the hand of the elder nor give him a hug or a peck on the cheek. It is against the covid precautionary measure. Times have changed the society for the worse.
