There has been a discussion about changing plane cabins due to the Corona Virus. I’ve wanted changes for years because of the cheek to jowl.
Okay, I don’t travel that much on planes, maybe one time a year, if that often, and I’ve always had great seat mates. Complete strangers I’ll never see again, but we get on well and have a pleasant time.
But I know that one day I’ll get one of those folks from hell who are spotlighted in various videos.
A friend of mine, who lives in New York City and has to travel to Orlando regularly prefers the bus. He can get up and off when it makes the usual stops, look at the scenery. It is not that he’s saving money, it’s the discomfort of the plane.
I’m short so when I feel squashed imagine how a person who is tall must feel. Further, with all the cut backs there are no meals. One gets a bag of chips and a coffee. If hungry, they have to buy food on the plane.
In ancient days when flying was luxury I recall booking vegan meals and expecting comfort. Today, flying is as much luxury as taking a minivan from Kingston to Mobay.
Redesigning the interior of a plane for the comfort of passengers is long over due. And maybe that will be the plus to the pandemic.
Discussions can be very productive.
I don’t know how frequently you fly, but the squashing in the economy is really bad… and on some flights the first class is anything but.
