When my youngest sister was in grade school she would bring home the leftover bread that she bought from the school canteen. Public schools sell the bread called Nutribun. It is a big bread that is cheap and intended for the students. The bread is made from banana plantain mixed with bread flour. It is nice to eat that I always asked my sister to buy one for me. I had it for my afternoon snack.
That Nutribun was a project of the Marcos regime. When Marcos was ousted as president the Nutribun vanished with him. So sad that good things would have to go sometimes.

Do you buy a loaf of bread every day?

Yes

That is very interesting and great that school children could get bread. I eat very little bread so I don’t always have it at home.
