Started Invisalign

Tuesday, 7.21.20

Last month, I had decided to get Invisalign because some of my front teeth had moved during the past couple of years when my teeth were suddenly shifting around. I had worn metal braces in high school to fix to overlapping fangs on top teeth, and my top teeth were very straight and aligned when I got my braces off during my senior year. Then, around my late 30s or early 40s, I am not sure the exact time,  but I felt my teeth were starting to move around, and I didn’t know what to do. I couldn’t wear my top retainer because it didn’t feel right, although I still wore the bottom retainer. I eventually started to wear a mouth guard at night to stop movements. But I had noticed one of my front teeth moved slightly inward, and four of my front bottom teeth were sightly outward from the rest.

I had researched on the internet, and I made my appointment for invisalign at a local orthodontics office. Two weeks ago, my trays arrived, but my appointment was for today. So, I went in today and got my attachments on the front top and bottom teeth, as well as clear trays. I got 7 pairs of trays, in which I am supposed to wear each pair for every two weeks. Then, I have an appointment to return to the office to check progress.

I have my first pair on, and it feels comfortable. But it is a little bit difficult to take out. I need to get used to it. I hope I don’t break anything. I have to take it out when I eat or drink. I can only drink water with them on.

I hope it works because they are expensive, although I got 10% discount, and I really want to realign my front teeth, which somehow had gone a little off when I got older and my teeth starting moving around. At the end, there is also invisalign retainers, which hopefully will keep them in place, in the future for the rest of my life.
