It is interesting to watch the unfurling of the cluster of leaves on a ficus palm. It starts with just a tiny white heap which slowly and gradually changes to green.
We have these palms all over the garden. They propagate on their own giving out suckers. Lately however we see they are being infested by pests that destroy the fresh leaves even before they turn into green. Infestation stops once it starts raining.
We had a couple of showers and hopefully the palms will be free from pests. We tried to use a spray but with no effect.

I have not seen one yet but I think we must have them here because there are all kinds of palms around.
I like to watch the gradual progress of the unfurling of the leaves.
