Bad enough listening to that ghastly cough which is a part of a caller tune here in India, South Korea has gone one step further by sending text messages informing the public about the travel history of those affected. Here is a typical text message:
“A woman in her 60s has just tested positive,” reads a typical text, “Click on the link for the places she visited before she was hospitalised,”
Such messages are not only embarrassing they could put those concerned in trouble. Collecting information helps the authorities to know who all would be affected but publicising it may not quite be ethical.

Would you consider this approach, ethical?

Yes

No

That’s an interesting approach. On one hand, this virus is quite contagious, on the other hand is the privacy issue.
The entire travel history is revealed including who was one with!!!
I guess desperate times require desperate measures. But I don’t know whether this virus is as severe as the media makes it seem.
It is the desperate measures that have kept the disease at bay to some extent.
