The display of figurines

I have seen Chinese houses with lots of figurines displayed in the interior and exterior of their homes. Those figurines gave their home a semblance of a museum or a temple. One Chinese friend said that the figurines give life to the place just like a park with a statue. But statues are usually a reminder of a person or a memorial of an event. With the figurines, they can be anything since the primary purpose is for display.

The most common color of figurines is the gold maybe because gold symbolizes wealth according to Chinese myth and legends. When there are displays at home in gold color then it can attract wealth. But remember that figurines costs a lot especially if they are custom made. Perhaps I would rather display a golden pot of a flowering plant of a strawberry shrub that is fruiting. That would be nicer to look at.
