The fruit of the mountains. Found in the hilly areas of Pakistan, the fruit is known locally as “toot”. I know every area of it will have different names and in each country it will be called by another name. But I am sure it will taste the same everywhere. It is a delicious fruit, its taste is similar to strawberry, so I think it should be called “little strawberry”. The difference between these two is that strawberry is a plant that you can easily break down and use while it has a large tree on which to climb and break it and use.
“Toot” is the fruit of the summer season. It grows from May to July each year in the mountains of Mansehra, Abbottabad, Batagram and Kohistan in the hilly areas of Pakistan. The taste of this fruit is so sweet that when eaten it looks exactly like strawberry.
