We have these greater racket tailed Drongos always seen on cables. They sure know to avoid tension wires as if they perch on those there is sure death.
I cannot say peacocks are not intelligent but there was a death recently of a peacock that got electrocutd as it was sitting on a tension wire. We picked it up and buried it in our garden.
No amount of pleading will help protect these birds as our Government is deaf.

Do you have cables exposed like this in your country?

The situation here is similar, but animals seem to know how to avoid danger.
Not all I notice. Just yesterday a bird was caught by one of our cats.
Sadly, that’s inevitable as cats are predators. It’s sad to know they do it even if they are regularly fed, but it is in their blood.
do not know what kind of cables are they that killed the peacock … we also have wires, I just have not seen any bird die of wires
Here we do not have underground cables for providing electricity to users.
