The yellow bell fruit

Don’t be fooled by the title because a yellow bell plant does not bear fruit and it is neither a tree for yellow bells come from a vine. That yellow bell I am holding is the fruit of the cashew tree. At the bottom of that yellow fruit is the seed that holds the cashew nut inside. You can now imagine how many fruits you need to fill a cup with cashew nuts.

The cashew fruit is called cashew apple. It is soft and juicy that when eaten, you should be expectant of the juice to flow from your mouth. The taste is sweet with a little tang which gives it a unique flavor. Considered an exotic fruit, the cashew apple is very rare now that you cannot find it in the market.
