The street market for convenience

I wonder why there are street markets whenever we would go abroad. The first one we saw was in Bangkok where the street market is very flourishing. They call it street economy. There’s also a street market in Vietnam and in Singapore as well.

In our country the street markets appear during the Christmas season. It is the time of the so called Tiyangge which means market or swap meet. The government is lenient with the vendors who do not need to get a permit to sell. At least they earn some money for their Christmas expenses.
