The proper social distancing

I wonder why the authorities here are shortening the required distancing in public places. The 1 meter of social distancing is actually way below the 2 meters that they are observing in other countries. I feel very safe with the 2 meters and the 1 meter is kind of doubtful to me in terms of safety from the virus.

Now the authorities have declared that they are going to lessen the distancing of 1 meter down to 0.75 of a meter. I wonder where the logic came from. They seem to be unaware of what is happening around us.
