One issue with the tin roof is the potential to have a leak when it gets old especially when the rust has set in. When we bought this home the roof is the first thing that we checked. The carpenter counted 9 sheets of galvanized iron to be replaced. That is not cheap because one sheet costs $18. Add the cost of the labor and that is a substantial expense.
The advice is to have the roof painted every 3 to 5 years depending on the wear and tear. Now we are following that advice and I think it is a good and sensible advice.
