During summer, nothing can beat a sweet cantaloupe for dessert. The only competition that I know is the seedless watermelon that is also sweet. Our watermelon and cantaloupe used to be of low quality. But in the past 2 or 3 decades, there have been a marked improvement in the quality. So sweet and seedless watermelon while the cantaloupe is also so sweet with a firm texture.
In my research, farmers said that the sweet cantaloupe is a variety from Taiwan and there is also a variety from Thailand. With the watermelon, they are already hybrid so they become seedless. The sweetness is just local which means it is from a native variety. No matter where it came from but if those fruits are of high quality then they are worth to buy even if the price is high.
