I have an apple sapling that is almost 2 years old. With the looks of the sapling I think it needed pruning so the main stalk will be thicker. Even the branches are all thin just like a plant and not resembling the looks of the tree. But apple tree is rare in this tropical country. I admit that I have it only for the novelty and I am not expecting it to be fruiting.
With the help of the videos in YouTube I was able to find one that shows the proper way of pruning the apple sapling. As mentioned, the main stalk will get thicker after the pruning and more likely flowers will come out after a year or 2. Okay, thank for the video.
