Our church was renovated a few years ago at a cost of Rs. 7 crores. There are frescos on walls and othere modern features including a large span fan that can cater to the entire hall.
In a way I was sad because this church was 300 years old and had those old features.
It is only when the congregation gathers that one gets the idea of the population that exists here Otherwise one hardly sees anyone on roads which have a deserted look.
Same with the schools. The schools are packed to capacity. I sometimes wonder where do they hide? May be in their homes busy watching tv and playing video games.
I am particularly fascinated with that fan that has such a wide sweep and to think that it caters to the entire hall.

It looks really nice!
It does look nice but I am missing the good old structure.
I agree with you. The gaudiness of the new church may be alienating people who come there impressed and grateful of His endowments.
The earlier church was small. May be they could have extended it retaining the old decor.
